- Wednesday June 20, 2007-Julie was a guest
on WCCO’s radio AM-830 The Don Shelby Show in studio-MPLS,
MN. Don and Julie discussed Autism and more importantly
the recent tragedy in Saratoga, Wisconsin. A 7 year old
Autistic boy wandered away from his home, his body was
recovered 6 days later. Don & Julie devoted their time
discussing “tracking devises”-Project
Lifesaver - that are available in some counties in Minnesota (4 counties)
for vulnerable children and adults (examples are those
with Autism and Alzheimer’s). Julie’s son Michael
has had a tracking devise now for 2.5 years should he ever
go missing. Check with you local Sheriff’s office
to see if this system is available to you if your loved
one needs such a tracking devise. In addition to the devises-
the discussion was also the implementing this type of “tracking
devises” statewide.
Julie plans to see this situation
of need thru and do whatever she can via government policy
to make the changes
needed to protect and provide safety to all of those
who need this in Minnesota.
