  • Wednesday June 20, 2007-Julie was a guest on WCCO’s radio AM-830 The Don Shelby Show in studio-MPLS, MN. Don and Julie discussed Autism and more importantly the recent tragedy in Saratoga, Wisconsin. A 7 year old Autistic boy wandered away from his home, his body was recovered 6 days later. Don & Julie devoted their time discussing “tracking devises”-Project Lifesaver - that are available in some counties in Minnesota (4 counties) for vulnerable children and adults (examples are those with Autism and Alzheimer’s). Julie’s son Michael has had a tracking devise now for 2.5 years should he ever go missing. Check with you local Sheriff’s office to see if this system is available to you if your loved one needs such a tracking devise. In addition to the devises- the discussion was also the implementing this type of “tracking devises” statewide.

Julie plans to see this situation of need thru and do whatever she can via government policy to make the changes needed to protect and provide safety to all of those who need this in Minnesota.

At the end of Don & Julie’s segment- Mr. Shelby stated to Julie that he will assist her in any way he can to spread the word on tracking devises for those whom need them and to help in the cause to implement them statewide.

  • Julie is currently working on contacts with the Minnesota Governor Tim Paulenty and State Representatives, Senators, and Minnesota Law Enforcement. She is putting together a team to write proposals for Minnesota State Government to have federal funding dollars allocated to make Project Lifesaver a state wide federal program offered to all needed in the great state of Minnesota.

She has people on board for this project however is looking for more-Please contact Julie via her web site email or Susan her Publicist -telephone and email information listed on this web site. * If you have an Autistic or vulnerable child or loved one with Alzheimer’s this information has a great impact on the safety of your loved one. Even with good proposals to government-the more people pushing for Project Lifesaver statewide the better our chances of having this implemented.
